I have a bit of an obsession with perusing new listings that come on the market, particularly those in my neighborhood.
I must admit, I was a little taken aback when I found this new listing in my neighborhood with the following picture and description. (Keep in mind that I live about 5 minutes north of downtown Dallas – pretty urban, to say the least):
BESIDES THE PATIO THIS 88X127 LOT HAS ENOUGH YARD ROOM FOR DOGS, KIDS, FARM ANIMALS OR EVEN TAKING IN FAMILY MEMBERS AND PUTTING THEM UP IN TENTS.
Come again? Did I miss something? Farm animals? Family members in tents?
Perhaps my neighborhood is a lot more exciting than I realized. Or maybe I need to move and get away from these weirdos . . . hmm. At the very least, someone should proofread this realtor’s listings.
Got any funky neighbors of your own with rampant code violations or family members housed in tents?

LOL that is too funny! Are they serious?!?
What a totally bizarre advertisement. Putting up family members in tents? As if ANYONE does that? Do they?
Hey sis, can we come visit?
Yeah sure – just bring your tent and put it up in my backyard.
Sweet.
?!?!
That is toooooo funny! Maybe humor is the way to sell houses these days (or comedians are having to get second jobs :-) Funny stuff!
That is hilarious!
That is a HUGE lot for central Dallas! Btw, doesn’t Dallas have laws against farm animals within the city limits? I know San Antonio does because my uncle got in HUGE trouble for keep roosters in his backyard right in the middle of Alamo Heights!
Do love the “taking family members and putting them up in tents” bit….nice to know you can always start your own shanty town in your backyard….
The funniest MLS post I saw listed a “fart fan” as one of the amenities! Some one forgot to proof read that one!!!
Erin,
That is the funniest / most horrifying thing I have ever heard – love it!!

I did not even REALIZE you live in Dallas, Liz! We should start a Dallas blog club. I work in Addison! Small world!
I think maybe a donkey would be a nice choice for this neighborhood.
Can you imagine if this was your neighbor’s listing?! Ugh!~
Kristina,
SERIOUSLY small world!! By the way, I love your blog – you have fabulous ideas. :)
A donkey would be a great addition to any neighborhood, particularly this one. And maybe some chickens. Loud ones. And P.S. – this person is almost my neighbor – about two streets away. And the house is already pending after two weeks. Are people crazy??
