It’s always fun to get a sneak peek into what other people think about you – which is exactly what this quiz from ArtQuiver is designed to do.
Basically, this art website, which specializes making original artwork available to the public, analyzes your responses to a variety of question to determine the artwork that you should be drawn to – your “unique artistic taste profile.”
When I first ran across this quiz on Decorology, I was totally intrigued and had to give it a whirl. The quiz consists of a series of paintings which you are asked to rate on a 5-star system – after you’ve rated a slew of paintings, the computer starts rating the paintings for you, and then ultimately provides you with a huge list of original artwork that is supposed to float your boat.
Here’s what ArtQuiver thinks I should like:
While there are definitely some questionable recommendations (man in cowboy hat?), I would say that about half of these paintings are ones that I would actually enjoy looking at every day. Whether I’d be willing to pay hundreds (or thousands) of dollars for artwork picked by a computer is another question, but it’s fun nonetheless.
Take the quiz for yourself right here. How’d they do?

Just found your blog today through Christy @ A Lil’ Welsh Rarebit…had to check it out because I’m an HGTV addict! I tried the ArtQuiver test but was a little disappointed by the results. There were a few paintings that I liked to a certain extent, but I was floored by the prices! After contemplating whether I’d buy the same pieces if they were framed as prints in Target and selling for $39.99, I still didn’t think I’d buy them. Results aside, I did have fun playing the game! Now I must go check out your amazing flip…
My results were disappointing too – ugh. But I remember you did another post recently on art and you posted one of my favorites ever! I’m not surprised a computer can’t pick art I’ll like. I don’t even know what art I normally like! ha!
…hmmm…definitely a bit off for me too. For me though, there’s a HUGE difference between the art I like/love and the art I can stand to look at every day. A lot of great art (or what I think of as great art) is a bit too intense for my bedroom or just somehow inappropriate near my TV….
