Isn’t it crazy how just a little dose of Christmas decor can really get you into the holiday spirit? We were a little late in festooning our house this year (we try to aim for the day after Thanksgiving), but I’m pleased to report that after a night of Christmas music, tree lighting, a flickering fire and some wine, we are now feeling thoroughly jolly.
Here’s a little taste of how we’re decking the halls this year:
How about you guys? Go ahead and link to your holiday decor in the Comments, we’d love to see it!
P.S. Here’s a HUGE thank you to all of you that chimed in with your thoughts about the fabrics I was considering for the dining room chairs – you guys were a big help, and the fabric has been ordered!! I’m super excited – hopefully it will arrive in a jiffy so I can show you how it all turns out!!

Looks great, Liz! I love how you wrapped your tree in that gorgeous red ribbon in particular. We’ve got all the decorations up, just haven’t gotten around to posting pictures yet — hopefully tonight!
I love it Liz! So festive – and that ribbon on the tree is just so fun! We’ve never done that. I’m having Matt take some photos tonight – and then we’re linking up to Hooked On Houses’ holiday decor party tonight or tomorrow! Yippee!
PS – I LOVE nutcrackers too! Yours are awesome!
I love the silk elephants walking tight ropes! — are there more photos (or explanations) so I can grasp the construction?
What a cute graphic you made. And I LOVE that ribbon around your tree — so beautiful. It all looks great!
Hey peeps! So glad you guys are digging our decorations! This year was the first time that we’ve done the ribbon around the tree and, I must admit, I really love it. We have kind of a Charlie Brown Christmas tree, and the ribbon really makes the tree look fuller, and it’s fun. :)
Janis, I love the elephants, too!! Sorry the picture is wonky, for some reason I found it impossible to photograph this little arrangement. What you’re seeing is a wire tree with the base set in a bowl – each little arm of the tree has a different silk animal hanging from it – it all looks very whimsical and fun, and I think I’m definitely going to do it again next year! My mom turned the little silk animals into ornaments years ago by adding a little loop of thread so they can be hung, and for years they came out every Christmas at her house and hung from a garland. A few years ago, she split up her collection between us 3 kids – and we love them!

I bought a bag of cinnamon-scented pinecones and misted them with gold glitter spray. Then I tied a little ribbon to the tops of them and hung them on the tree because we didn’t have any ornaments! They look cool, AND they smell good!
Ali,
I love that idea!! I’m thinking I might need to try that out next year. :)
