I actually have both backless and two barstools with backs, and I like them both ! I really struggled with this issue too, finally settled on some bar chairs from Pier One then customized the seats with cushions and fabric. Love them to this day ! Great roundup !!!! We used to have bar stools WITH backs in our kitchen, but have since replaced them with chairs. I think backless would be fine and I love these choices.
