Abby,

I know, it's so awesome! Alas, I don't know where it's from - anybody else have an idea?

I'm in the same boat. I bought two bar stools about 2 years ago but my tastes have totally changed and they are too "heavy" for the aura I want for my kitchen.

I really love that iron one on the bottom row. It's so simple.

Oh, how I adore those slipcovered versions. I actually have both backless and two barstools with backs, and I like them both ! I really struggled with this issue too, finally settled on some bar chairs from Pier One then customized the seats with cushions and fabric. Love them to this day ! Great roundup !!!!

Janis,

Wouldn't that be fun? Alas, we're staying put for the foreseeable future - and while I LOVE our current house, it's always fun to dream about the next one! :)

Averill,

Like you, I have some perfectly good bar stools even though my tastes might have changed a bit since I bought them. I hope you recover your C&B ones so we can take a look!

Great post, Liz! I really love those classic aluminum stools and I think they'd be FAB in my new house, but alas I have 4 perfectly good, well-built wood barstools from C&B so I think I'm going to have to just make do (and maybe recover them!) for a while.

What great inspiration photos! We used to have bar stools WITH backs in our kitchen, but have since replaced them with chairs. I think backless would be fine and I love these choices. If you can swing it, I'd go for something with a colorful seat!
