Look Up – Stunning Ceilings
I don’t know about you, but my ceilings are white. And made of drywall. And completely devoid of any detail, except a little crown molding around the edges.
Can you imagine looking up at these ceilings every day?

Yeah, I think I could get used to that. Maybe one day I’ll get it into gear and spiff up my ceilings (although they could never be anything close to these stunners). What about you guys – are your ceilings plain white, or gussied up? Do you like the look of fancy ceilings?

Yeah, ours are drywalled and white, boring. Some have crown molding, most don’t. I would LOVE to have a pretty ceiling one day. I’d love to paint the ceilings of our kids rooms…something striped or super fun!
I love those ceilings ! Unfortunately, they are waaaaaay out of my budget. I confess, I tend to focus my funds on the four walls and flooring. BUT, if I was a zillionaire, I would certainly be adding some of those gorgeous treatments ! They are stunning ! Great inspiration photos friend !
Boring white ceilings here. I think the Phoebe Howard ceiling is beautiful!
I like the yellow round room’s ceiling treatment best!
Hi Liz, great post!! I do have a simple moulding treatment on my living room ceiling that is painted a sage green. I also have a soft blue ceiling in my guest room. It is really an easy thing to do and for something so simple looks pretty cool. Not even close to these picts but it is something that the average homeowner could do. Let me know what you think!! Phoebe Howard is my Design Idle, she is amazing.!! kathysue
I absolutly love ceilings with drama! Our entire house is drywall and mostly white also. But I did get ambitious and our basement theater room and bar have a swirled plaster job (one of those round brissle brushes and some plaster – I am not very technical). I have heard for projector rooms you are supposed to paint the ceiling black. I thought that would be dungeon-like and insisted on a dark red wine color. With a beige/taupe wall, white trim, and a floor to ceiling built-in black bookcase/media center, the whole room looks amazing. I was scared at first, but the ceiling really brought it together. We are planning on building again in the next year and and we are going to try to do all different ceilings, from couffered to stepped in. While not super fancy like these that you show, they definitely add character!
I am not usually impressed or even care for ceilings. What usually gets my attention are exposed beams on ceilings – I LOVE THEM!!!
However the ceilings you posted here are quite detailed. The work that went into them must have been astounding!
Stunning! I had hoped to do a coiffered ceiling in my dining room, but unfortunately that particular upgrade got nixed for the budget’s sake. Ah well….
that 3rd one could be really cool in the right style house. fun finds Liz!!
Love an interesting ceiling!
