Hob Knobbing

One project on my never-ending to do list is to refinish a cute wood dresser in our guest room.  It used to live in my bedroom when I was growing up and I’ve had it for about as long as I can remember.  The dresser has seen better days – the white paint is chipping and discolored, the knobs are not-so-cute-shiny-faux-brass – but the dresser is still solid and has a lot of good years left in it.

Anyhoo, that sucker needs to be gussied up.  A new paint job is definitely in the works, and I’m contemplating some new hardware.  I’ll probably just wind up spray painting the existing hardware {knobs get expensive!}, but in the meantime I’m enjoying dreaming of gorgeous, luxurious knobs like these from Anthropologie:

Maybe I’ll switch out the knobs on the nightstands with one of these – I can stomach buying 2 knobs much better than buying 6!  Which one of them strikes your fancy?

This reminds me of something I am going to need to do as well. I love middle one in the top row.

Good luck choosing because all of those knobs are GORGEOUS!

The top middle ones or the turquoise glassy looking ones. I love them both! Can’t wait to see your before and after pictures!

  4. The “Sea Crown”, “Mercury Glass”, and mother-of-pearl knobs. Looking at the Anthropologie site, there are a few more that I’d love to turn into giant obnoxious rings. My jewelry obsession never ends!

Hobby Lobby has some interesting similar (sea glass-like, milk glass-like) knobs for much cheaper, especially if you can wait for a sale or use a coupon. Here’s a pretty example: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/glass-clear-knob-223545/

The two glass examples, both the silvered and the aqua. I know you have a serious turquoise addiction, so . . . !

  7. Oooh…I love them all. But 3, 6 and 7 are my favorites.

I love the mother of pearl ones at the very bottom. Used the oval variety on a credenza I recently redid for our dining room. But I totally hear you on cost…I’m currently re-doing an old dresser for our nursery and that sucker has 12 (!!!) drawers. Had to save up for that trip to Anthro but I think it will be worth it. The dresser will be bright yellow so I decided on these for a simple little accent:
