Here are those juicy secrets!

Fab tips! I can’t wait to watch her show – I’ve set up my DVR to tape it. But from the way it was marketed on HGTV it seems like it was a one time special? Or is it her new series? I love the tip about bookcases – they’re one my favorite things to decorate with frames, books and treasures collected while traveling!!

Christy,
Excellent question! My understanding is that the show still has to be picked up by the network, so viewer feedback is super important. Here’s a link to HGTV if anyone wants to leave a little love for Emily: http://blog.hgtv.com/design-star/2010/08/27/secrets-from-a-stylist-premiere/. It’s a mixed bag of comments so far, so if you’d love to see Emily stick around let HGTV know!

White is so right! I will often by ceramic pieces for their texture, then interchangably move them from room to room to dress things up.
I can’t wait until the DVR gets hooked back up… I’ll be recording her show!

Great tips — and the eye-level rule is classic.
Here’s the tip I wish I’d known from house-One: If you paint the walls a rich cream and paint the trim white, your antique linens and your new fabrics will be equally at home.
I often get really good ideas from the other readers’ comments. The cream/white paint to make both old and new linens happy was something I had never thought about and was a great hint!
From Emily’s tips you presented, the gender friendly pointer was something so true and useful, but I would have never figured it out myself. Fab ideas from multiple sources!
