I don’t know what it is about giant stuffed giraffes, but they are just so insanely cute in a nursery. Don’t you think?

That’s why, when my mom asked what she and my dad could give me for a baby present, I couldn’t resist requesting a giant stuffed giraffe for my own little girl’s nursery. My mom jumped at the chance to give a “fun” gift rather than a “practical” gift (the other half of my gift that I requested can only be described as practical), and a few days later this giant box from Amazon arrived on my doorstep.
Eeek!!! Nelson is even cuter in person than I had hoped!
And apparently giant stuffed giraffes are fun for the whole family, not just babies. My husband has had a grand old time chasing the kitties around the house with Nelson . . .
. . . and now Nelson has the habit of standing in random places to “surprise” people and kitties when they are least expecting it.
( Nelson sneaking up on me behind the couch while we were watching TV )
( Nelson peeking out from the breakfast nook. He has also been found in my closet. )
We are a mature bunch around here. :)
By the way, the best deal that I found for giant stuffed giraffes was on Amazon for the Melissa and Doug giraffe (that’s what Nelson is) – you can get your own giraffe here.

Nelson is too cute for words! I am glad everyone enjoyed having him around! Love your inspirational nursery pictures, too.

love it! i may need to add that to my registry now, ha. can’t wait to see the finished nursery!
So fun! I love giraffes :) I just bought Avery a Big crib size giraffe, he loves it, I love that its cute and bigger than he is :)
Super cute:) I love how the nursery is coming along! And very jealous that you still fit in your very cute seven’s while pregnant. Mine were packed away weeks ago:)
Long sweaters can hide anything, I promise. :)
Adorable! Nelson is HUGE and so darn cute. It will be a perfect and fun addition to your nursery. Which, by the way, I cannot wait to see.
In other news – you look amazing. In the first picture, you don’t even look pregnant, you skinny cute little thing! But that belly is too darn cute from the side.
TRUST ME, it’s trick photography! The 7-month belly is definitely there. :) Thanks for the sweet comments!
Oh no! I don’t have a Nelson yet! I think my kids MUST have one….so damn cute! Love it! And love all the photos.
ALSO – yay for the beautiful pink paint in the nursery. Swoon.
And the teal chairs! Love those – but totally admit that I’ll miss the gallery wall. Hoping it’s going in somewhere else?!
And the improvements to the flip are rockin’! You guys are seriously talented and have such a great eye. Can’t wait to see more progress!
Sorry to comment all at once! I mean to comment AS I read, but just haven’t had time! And even now I have a wiggly baby demanding attention. Oy! :)
Thanks for commenting (and reading) at all, Christy! I have no doubt that a wiggly baby would keep your hands full. :)
We have a Nelson too! Or at least my daughter does…. Santa brought it when she was four and she plays with it all the time – she’s now 8. LOVE Nelson, that cute giraffe will surely brighten your nursery!

Ooh, I love that Nelson might have some longevity – great to hear that your daughter still loves him now that she’s 8!
Oh man, he is cute. I want one now!
Our baby girl Paisley has a giraffe too…her name is Sophie! Don’t you love the long eyelashes? I suppose that’s why I assumed the giraffe was a girl..haha!
No nursery here. (Our boy just turned 14 this month.) But I’d order one of those just to chase our cats around with. That’d get them off their lazy little fuzz-butts in a hurry!
Looks like you two are having a lot of fun with Nelson! :)
Love Nelson!! I would love to see him surprise the kitties, hahaha. So fun!
My little guy has that exact giraffe and he loves it! His cousin has on as well that is named Jeffrey, so we named the new one Jeana. He likes to sit on it and pretend to ride it! Hop your little girl enjoys Nelson just as much!
