Inspiration for Kitchen Hardware

Our last three flips (1st, 2nd and 3rd) have been pretty darn traditional in terms of the finishes we’ve used – which I love, but I’m itching to try something slightly more edgy.  Not quite modern, but a little bit sleeker with clean lines and un-fussy finishes.

We’re reusing and revamping the existing kitchen cabinetry (shown here), and I keep looking at hardware as a way to give the traditional cabinets a little more oomph.

The images below pretty much sold me on chrome bar pulls for all of the cabinets and drawers.  Aren’t they gorgeous?

I think the sleek hardware will go a long way towards achieving our goal of a home with crisp, clean finishes.  But, of course, there are so many other finishes to consider – counter tops, tile, sinks . . . we’ve chosen all of it and I can’t wait to fill you in!!

Sold is right! Those handles are gorgeous.

  2. That’s the hardware I have and I love it. Can’t wait to see what you are doing. Hugs, Marty

  3. I think you have inspired me to switch out my own kitchen hardware. We currently have a basic silver knob on all drawers and cabinet drawers. I am interested in your kitchen makeover as I want to do some updating to my almost 10 year old kitchen: painting cabinets, new hardware, and adding a backsplash.

I love how each of the homes you do, you try new things. How do you not fall in love with all of them and want to move?

The hardware is wonderful. My next “re-do” may use them. You have lots of pictures for inspiration! Can’t wait to see your progress on this flip! Keep up the good work; I enjoy seeing the array of things you do!

Love the shiny pulls and cabinet color of the first picture! So pretty. We had the ones exactly like the last picture (with the bar the sticks out past the posts that attach it to the cabinet) in my last house. They drove me crazy. The ones on the lower cabinets were always catching on things likes clothing or my toddler would bump his head on the ends, catch them on his shirt, etc. I might be the only one with this problem but something for your readers to consider before replacing all their hardware. :)

  7. I love the greyish cabinets…so pretty! And the drawer pulls look fantastic!
