Hi Liz, I was wondering if you guys always buy ranches for a certain reason (better price than two stories, more predictable construction/demo, more popular in your area, etc.).
I enjoy your blog. Have a great weekend with your Little Peanut!
Hey Katelyn! For the most part we renovate ranches because they are what is available in our price range and area – and now that we’ve done so many, we’re kinda partial to them! :)
That’s fantastic news, Liz! Hopefully that means house #6 quickly sold for top dollar (of course it did, silly Mike). I am eagerly looking forward to future posts about your next project. BTW, when are you going to get in touch with HGTV about a tv show? Your blog would serve as an excellent resume of your qualifications as a designer. (Heck, it’s much more entertaining, educational and inspiring than most of HGTV’s current programming.)
I have been a fan for over a year and this is my first post. I am so happy to see a new flip. It is a dream of mine to flip a home but fear the unknown. Salute to the brave family!
……waiting (not so patiently) to see some befores! :). So excited for another flip. Every time it’s a new adventure….can’t wait to see what kind of personality you give this one!
Hi Liz!
I can’t wait to see the ‘after’ photos.
We are in the midst of renovating too. I’d love you to let me know what you think about two of our transformations!

The 7th house is a real charm. I love the parquet floors and the jack n jill bathroom is such a great feature. It is also really spacious and the colors are fabulous. What a find!
I have been reading and browsing your photos most of the evening. Nice flips. And I like your house too. I was wondering if you do all your own decorating and staging or do you have the help of someone? Is this a full time job? Do you guys do your own tiling, drywalling, flooring and paintig chores. I remember seeing a baby so I wondered how you guys handle all the work. Thanks.
Hi PattyKay! Yes, we do all of our own decorating and staging, as well as the designing of the renovations – but we don’t do the physical labor because, frankly, we wouldn’t do nearly as good of a job as our trades!
Can’t wait to see the end result. It’s amazing what a little vision and a lot of hard work can do to a house. Maybe this will motivate me to finish all of my projects around the house. Good luck!
Oh cool! Can’t wait to see more! :)
YES!!
SOOO excited to see this from the beginning–you lucky ducks!
