Were you guys starting to think I had dropped off the face of the earth?

I feel like it’s been forever since I got to chat with you, but it felt great knowing that my guest bloggers were holding down the fort. Thanks again to Jen, Meredith, Christy and Sara!! Y’all are so fabulously awesome. :)

So, what have I been up to for the past 17 days? (Not that I’ve been counting or anything.) Well, Jason and I scooted off to Spain and Paris!!!! I know, right? Craziness – I’m still pinching myself.

We got back late last night and I’m spending the day doing laundry, returning emails, and just generally getting back into the groove of regular life.

Once I get my act together I’ll do a decent post about the trip, but in the meantime here’s a pic from each city we visited (pitifully unedited, sorry ’bout that).

Saturday Style: Stylish Bloggers

Follow along as I try to find my way out of the sweatpants and into something a little more stylish.

There’s no question that the blog world is full of inspiration – there are some bloggers out there that seriously blow my mind and make me want to run around sprucing & DIYing and renovating everything in my path. Inspiration breeds creativity – when I see something inspiring it awakens the creative part of me and conjures up ideas that I otherwise never would have had.

While design bloggers inspire me to spruce up my house, style bloggers inspire me to spruce up myself. There’s something really exciting about seeing how other people view clothing – color combinations I would never think of, tutorials on how to layer without looking like a marshmallow, new trends, mixing patterns, and just treating getting dressed every day as another way of expressing who you are and influencing how people see you. Over time, I think that a few of those lessons will inevitably find their way into my own personal style (or at least I hope).

The list of style blogs that I follow seems to be growing, and I thought it was high time that I share that list of stylish bloggers with you. Hopefully you will find them inspiring as well!! In no particular order, here they are:

Did you guys have a great weekend? We actually got snow here in Dallas, which was kind of exciting. The weather got all crazy right before our open house on Sunday, which we were pretty worried about, but somehow we still had a really great turn out!

Thanks for your awesome comments about the dining room! Here are the sources we used for staging (with links where possible and while they last).

chandelier – cb2, Lumen Pendant Lamp, no longer available (Ack! I just looked for it and it seems to have been discontinued – I was thinking of getting it for our home, so this kind of breaks my heart!)
dining table – Weir’s, local furniture store (has 2 leaves not pictured)
upholstered chairs – World Market, Marco Dining Chair in Surf (on sale)
striped rug – Pottery Barn, 8 x 10 Striped Cotton Mat in Blue (steal of the century!)
