Home Tour
We fell in love with this 1960’s ranch early on in our home search, and jumped at the chance to buy it when the price was slashed over the summer. Four bedrooms, 3.5 baths, an actual yard and almost 2,700 square feet just begging for some love – let me tell you, this place was a dream come true after the tiny tan townhouse! After several months (yes, months!) of negotiations, inspections, dealing with construction loans, etc., the house was ours!!!! Then we got to start in on the fun stuff – RENO!
As you can see, our little labor of love is still a work in progress, but I’m pretty proud of what we’ve accomplished so far. Take a look at the before and after pics!

Stay tuned for before and after pics of our office, dining room, craft room, laundry room, entryway, and second and third bedrooms!!
And now that you’ve seen the before and after pics, click here to sneak a peek at the changes we made to our floorplan!! You might also want to check out this video of how our house looked before the big renovation.

Liz – Absolutely incredible transformation (and website). I’m saving this site as one of my favorites. Congrats!!!
Man that looks awesome!!!! I cannot wait to see more pictures of the ‘after.’ ;)
This is such a fun, functional, and fabulous site! It gives us all hope when we see a redo with “lots of potential” to see what you have done. I can’t wait to keep visiting this website and see what else you and others contribute.
Wow, Liz!! Everything looks so great!!! I’m impressed. What a great idea on the website…
Liz, your remodeling projects were lengthy! Whoa, what an undertaking! I love the sleek, clean lines. The flush mount sinks and great tile work are really beautiful. How much of this did you do yourselves, I wonder? Very impressive. Also, the dome light fixtures in the hallway, are those from Ballard Design? If not, you should check them out online; you’ll like what you find there! Also the CQ3, WestElm and Z Gallerie websites are fun. I love what you’ve done! Bravo!!
Where were you when I lived in the clone of your house — same floorplan, same cabinetry, same rock wall fireplace that I despised — and desperately needed your transformational touch? Congratulations on your beautiful work!
Love it!! It looks amazing!
Thanks, Melissa, I’m so glad you like the site! The dome light fixtures in the hallway are from the Monterey Mosaic Collection by Quoizel. As for the renovations, we are really pleased with how they came out! We had the help of a great contractor, Mike Sepik from Unique Home Construction.
Liz- I am speechless. Not only is this website awesome, but you’re house is gorgeous. Unbelievable!!!!!!! Is there anything you can’t do? This is going to be a huge success.
I love this! That is the kind of fun I would like to have. You have great taste!
Wow. Your house looks AMAZING. Great job and brava for selling the townhouse and trading up for the fixer-upper (we’re actually contemplating a similar move ourselves).
Averill,
Thanks for stopping by!! I would totally recommend making the move to anyone – I loved our townhouse, but it’s amazing how much fun it is to really create your own environment in a way that you can really only do with a fixer-upper. Go for it!!
~ Liz
P.S. And I’m so glad you like our house!! Thanks! :)
Holy crap I love these before and after pictures. You should submit your kitchen and master bath to a magazine. Seriously. Unless you already have? Are you some famous designer or something? :) I can’t wait to have more time to peruse your whole site! Love it!
WOW – what an amazing job! Seriously – SUCH an inspiration. I can’t wait to share your blog with my family and friends- keep it up – you guys are on fire!
I love it-I stumbled over here from thisyounghouse.com
I’m adding you to my blog roll-I can’t wait to see more pics. Thanks for sharing!
Just found your blog and your fabulous ideas! Currently we live in a 1915 arts and crafts home but are in the process of buying my husbands childhood home, which was built as a wedding gift to his parents when THEY got married in 1950! They did a slight add on in 1970 which was a bedroom and living room.
Your ideas are inspiring!
I stumbled accross your blog after seeing your reno on This Young House. I LOVE it! My husband and I actually live in a tiny townhouse (which I do love), but our dream is to buy and renovate a ranch style house in Houston. Thanks for the great inspiration… I plan to show my husband your before and after pics.
