It’s not often that you can incorporate the Pottery Barn look into your own home without breaking the bank.

Well, never say never – the latest Pottery Barn catalogue is chock full of natural DIY touches that are absolutely F-R-E-E. That’s right – zip, zero, zilch, nada.

Here are my two favorite looks from PB – can you spot the free, DIY element?

You guessed it – aren’t those branches stunning?!? I can’t decide which photograph I love more – the first picture screams “fall” and demands snuggling up with a good book at a cabin in the woods, and the second photo is wintery and glamorous with chunky knit pillows and mercury glass vases. Swoon.

The moral of this story is that with nothing more than a quick walk around the block you can grab oodles of free goodies to adorn your home – and it’s guaranteed to look totally chic.

Thanks to all you peeps out there that have a hankering to spruce up your homes a room at a time, I’ve been a busy bee these days whipping up custom design plans every spare second. Whether it’s quickies (no pun intended) or full-on consults, you guys sure do like your decor! Not that I’m complaining – talk about a fun way to spend my time!!

Here’s just a taste of what I’ve gotten to create for you guys over the past few months:

4. Once I receive your order I’ll email you with just a few questions (and a request for pictures), and then we’ll get this party started!

It’s been around for awhile, but I am seriously lusting after Ikea’s Expedit bookcase. It comes in a bunch of different sizes and colors, as you can see below:

These nifty bookcases range in price from $59.99 for the smallest to $229 for the large TV stand, so these babies provide ridiculous amounts of storage on the cheap. They would be perfect in any bedroom for folded clothes or baskets of socks, as a pantry, in a garage, as a home office, in a craft room, or in a kid’s playroom.

But don’t be fooled – these bookcases aren’t just about functionality – they also give you a great opportunity to really show your stuff and spice up any room. Check out how these bookcases can really become a feature and focal point of any room with just a little creativity:
