Blog Party: Inspiration Tuesday!

Ahhhh, wainscoting.  So classic, so fresh, and oh so gorgeous.

And so many options, from beadboard or raised panel, to dining room or bathroom or mud room, to chair rail height or 3/4 height . . .

Blog Party: Inspiration Tuesday!

I’m digging the much taller 3/4 height – what about you?

And while we’re on the subject of inspiration, how about you join in on the blog party and fill us in on what’s inspiring you today?

Here are a few pointers:

(1) Make sure that you add the permalink to your specific blog post (like www.itsgreattobehome.net/inspiration-tuesday-wainscoting), instead of your general blog address.

(2) Give everybody an idea of what you’re inspired by in parentheses after your blog name – like Liz @ IGTBH (wainscoting).

(3) Make sure that your link works – otherwise, it might get deleted (no fun!!).

(4) Include a link back to this party somewhere in your post so that your readers can get in on the fun.

(5) Click on the other participants’ links and let them know if they’ve inspired you!

And remember, if we have enough participants this week I’ll feature my faves from the blog party on Wednesday – and it could be your post!  Now grab your post and this button and let’s get down to business!!

Quivering For Art

It’s always fun to get a sneak peek into what other people think about you – which is exactly what this quiz from ArtQuiver is designed to do.

Quivering for Art

Basically, this art website, which specializes making original artwork available to the public, analyzes your responses to a variety of question to determine the artwork that you should be drawn to – your “unique artistic taste profile.”

When I first ran across this quiz on Decorology, I was totally intrigued and had to give it a whirl.  The quiz consists of a series of paintings which you are asked to rate on a 5-star system – after you’ve rated a slew of paintings, the computer starts rating the paintings for you, and then ultimately provides you with a huge list of original artwork that is supposed to float your boat.

Here’s what ArtQuiver thinks I should like:

While there are definitely some questionable recommendations (man in cowboy hat?), I would say that about half of these paintings are ones that I would actually enjoy looking at every day.  Whether I’d be willing to pay hundreds (or thousands) of dollars for artwork picked by a computer is another question, but it’s fun nonetheless.

Take the quiz for yourself right here.  How’d they do?
