Hardware-Palooza

It’s easy to spend a small fortune on hardware, and we were determined to avoid breaking the bank with the hardware for this flip.

Keeping the budget in mind, I picked out these goodies for the cabinets and doors:

Hardware-Palooza

1. Knobs for kitchen cabinets; 2. Door knobs throughout house; 3. Handleset for the front door; 4. Ring pulls for the den and jack & jill built-ins (I already owned these); 5. Cup pulls for the kitchen drawers; 6. Knobs for the master bathroom drawers and cabinets (yes, I went for it!).

We want this house to feel crisp and clean and fresh, so the goal was to find hardware that fit into this plan.  I’m smitten with all of the cabinet hardware, and while I would have preferred a door lever like the ones we used at the last flip I am very happy with the door knobs we chose.  And the best part?  The total cost for the hardware came in at half the budget I had allocated!  I’m one happy camper.  :)

The Flip: Days 65-66

Before I left town on Friday we had some exciting developments at the flip.

Hardware was installed on all of the doors . . .

I love these levers!!

The shower glass was installed – it totally changes the look of the master bathroom!

We also switched out the glass door on the shower in the 3rd bathroom – it was pretty nasty before, and looks soooooo much better now:

We didn’t go completely frameless on that door because we didn’t think it was worth the added cost, and I’m happy with that decision because this door looks great!

The last thing I saw before I left (to go on our annual shopping trip with my mom, sister and aunt) was this:

Woohoo!! I’m loving the 1 x 2 subway tile – it’s interesting but not too interesting next to the granite – don’t want too much competition!

And while I was gone Jason was sending me lots of updates, so I didn’t feel like I was missing too much of the action. He hauled over all 5 zillion of the boxes of bamboo so they could acclimate, and had a little help opening all the boxes from the tile guy’s kiddos – too cute!

And speaking of Ben, our tile guy, he’s been working magic with some travertine in the jack ‘n jill bathroom:

I saw it last night and the entire bathroom is almost finished – I’m dying over it!!

Is everything looking like you thought it would? Did you have a fab weekend, too?!?

P.S. It was a blast reading your comments on the Saturday Style post – thanks so much for your feedback and lovely words, I was so nervous about how that post would be received since it’s a big departure from the main discussions on this blog. You guys rock!!

Hob Knobbing

One project on my never-ending to do list is to refinish a cute wood dresser in our guest room.  It used to live in my bedroom when I was growing up and I’ve had it for about as long as I can remember.  The dresser has seen better days – the white paint is chipping and discolored, the knobs are not-so-cute-shiny-faux-brass – but the dresser is still solid and has a lot of good years left in it.

Anyhoo, that sucker needs to be gussied up.  A new paint job is definitely in the works, and I’m contemplating some new hardware.  I’ll probably just wind up spray painting the existing hardware {knobs get expensive!}, but in the meantime I’m enjoying dreaming of gorgeous, luxurious knobs like these from Anthropologie:

Maybe I’ll switch out the knobs on the nightstands with one of these – I can stomach buying 2 knobs much better than buying 6!  Which one of them strikes your fancy?
