Update: Our Powder Room

Another weekend, another fun new update in our powder room!

Last weekend our powder room went from a little boring to bold, and this weekend I added this print from Persimmon & Pink that I’ve wanted forever.

Here’s how it looks in our powder room:

( As always, our powder room is impossible to photograph. )

Update: Our Powder Room

I love it!

I thought about going for an all silver and white vibe in the powder room, but that just felt too classy for me.  :)  I just couldn’t pass up the opportunity to add some fun color, and I think this print does the trick!

What do you think, do you still miss the stars or have you jumped on the colorful print bandwagon with me?

My Weekend Project

My weekend involved lots of this . . .

And our powder room now looks like this . . .

My Weekend Project

. . . instead of this!

My Weekend Project

Although the light blue walls were pretty I had gotten very tired of them – they felt kind of wimpy to me and I really wanted something more exciting!  This slate blue color is exactly what I wanted (although getting there wasn’t so pretty – more on that disaster tomorrow!).

My Weekend Project

This powder room is impossible to photograph since it’s tiny and the only light is from the sconces – so sorry for the somewhat crazy photos (for this photo above I dragged two lamps into the hallway so you could actually see the sconces).

But I absolutely love how the color turned out – to me it feels a little more dramatic, sophisticated, and much more interesting.  I ordered a print for above the toilet that I’ve been lusting after forever – I’ll post updated pics once it arrives!

And for you curious folks the paint color is Regatta Bay (550F-6) by Behr, and I used their Premium Plus Ultra Paint & Primer in One in the interior flat enamel.

It almost looks gray when it first goes on, but stick with it – once the whole room is painted it becomes a gorgeous slate blue.

Did you tackle any projects this weekend?

A Starry Night

It’s starting to look like I might have a thing for stars – first they made an appearance in our master bedroom, and now they’re cropping up in the hall bath!

A Starry Night

Before I show you guys the full enchilada, I think it’s only appropriate that we take a quick trip down memory lane – remember how the hall bath looked when we first bought our house?

A Starry Night

To say that it wasn’t pretty is quite an understatement!

Things got a bit better after the renovation, but there’s a reason that you’ve only seen the right half of the hall bath so far:

Pretty as a Peony

You see, the left half has been a little . . . naked.  For almost a year now.  For shame!!

A Starry Night

Luckily, it only took a few mirrored stars and nails and about 5 minutes (plus 11 months) to remedy that embarrassing situation.

A Starry Night

What do you guys think?  And while we’re at it, has anybody else had a hard time deciding how to decorate a bathroom?  Better yet – can anybody beat my record of almost a full year of naked bathroom walls?
